We will be honoring the Board of Directors of Stepping Stone

(San Francisco Women's Rehabilitation Foundation)

for their incredibly generous donation of funds

to construct an additional building

to house more women in need of our services.

Good Shepherd Gracenter is owned and operated by the Sisters of the Good Shepherd who have been serving women and girls in need in San Francisco for 87 years.

As a Licensed Recovery Residence for women, Good Shepherd Gracenter offers a path to successful recovery and community reintegration by addressing the major barriers faced by many substance abusers. The lack of a safe home, spirituality, education and social skills make it even more difficult for them to find a job and maintain housing and sobriety.

We at Good Shepherd Gracenter understand that recovery is a process that is unique to each woman. We provide an innovative program of a positive peer community with clean and sober housing, individual recovery mentoring, case management, monthly classes and referrals to a variety of services.

Education is vital to recovery and we encourage the women to further their education or take vocational training. Women also focus on employment, money management, career development, mastering their social skills and giving back, through volunteerism.

They find their spirituality through their Higher Power, following their own personal faith tradition. All are active members of a 12 Step community.

We consider it a privilege to be able to offer our support in such concrete and practical ways to women who are brave enough to take the first steps toward rebuilding their lives, yet find themselves without the necessary resources to sustain their recovery.
